Who can Hire?
You can! We hire out to both commercial and personal customers subject to all relevant approved documents and of course availability.
Hire periods
Our hires do not have maximum hire periods.
You can hire from 1 day, a couple of days, weekly, just weekends or even monthly. We always try to accommodate to your needs and will work with you to get the hire you need.
Hired in plant
We require hired in plant insurance on any hire. The insurance must be a hired in plant policy – public liability insurance will only be excepted if the policy has a designated section for the hired in plant. Motor vehicle policies will not be sufficient.
The policy must be valid for the dates you wish to hire
The cover required depends on the machine you want to hire you can find the required level of insurance for the machine on the information tab of the machine.
What if I don't have Hired In Plant Insurance?
Don't Panic! On short term hires (up to 5 days max) on the discretion of Spectrum Plant and our insurers we may be able to offer a Hired in Plant Waiver. This is a non refundable fee which covers you even in the event of total loss or theft of the machine. Stump Grinders Available For Hire
Self-propelled Stump Cutter with Honda/Kohler petrol engine
The FSI B20 is a compact and balanced stump grinder that can be used to grind down all types of tree stumps.
The pivot joint between the stump grinder and the wheel axle ensures easy and smooth grinding, even under difficult conditions.
The brakes can be applied individually to each wheel, so the machine can easily access the stump even if there are shavings in the way. The individual brakes can also be used to negotiate steps with ease.
What fuel does this machine run on?
The B20 runs on petrol and has either a Honda 6.1 litre or a Kohler 7 litre tank

The machine can be transported either in the back of a van or on a trailer

Self-propelled stump cutter with 2WD and petrol engine
Self-propelled means the user can move the machine with ease, both moving to and from the stump that is to be ground down and especially when moving the machine onto a trailer or lorry after use.
The hydraulically driven wheels provide a top speed of 3 km/h. In contrast to the B20, the machine is equipped with a complete hydraulic system with tank, pump and engine.
The actual stump grinding is executed by making small manual sideways movements of the stump grinder into the stump. It is extremely easy to move the machine sideways, since only the grinding section moves and not the wheels. All sideways and up/down movements are executed manually with both hands on the handlebar. A centrifugal clutch transfers energy from the V-belt drive to the cutting disc.
Using the handlebar, the operator can move the machine, grind down stumps and operate the brakes and pivot joint lock. A safety bar ensures that the operator is safe, since it must be activated when operating the machine and when grinding down a stump.

The B38 is a 38 hp stump grinder which comes on tracks and is remote controlled. With all controls accessible from the pivoting console or radio control the operator has a great view of the working area.

Stump cutter with Track and diesel engine
The new track version increased the terrain capability, and thus transport to stumps that need to be removed has been optimised. Another great benefit is the extreme stability achieved when grinding down a stump because of the high deadweight.
FSI D30 TRACK is equipped with a 25 HP Kubota water-cooled diesel engine and a cutting disc that is 470 mm in diameter. Hydraulic cylinders provide the stump grinder's up/down and sideways movement.
All machine operation, including moving the stump grinder and grinding down stumps is executed via the handlebar, so the operator can stand behind the machine during operation and move towards the work site, and the panel can be turned during stump grinding, providing a good overview of the stump during the stump grinding process. An ergonomic safety bar on the panel functions as a support for the operator's hands and as an emergency stop, since it must be activated when moving the stump grinder and when grinding down stumps. To ensure maximum visibility and use, the machine is equipped with powerful LED work lights.
